No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction at anytime.
There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction,
a blessed unrest keeps us marching and makes us more alive than others.

On the benefits of walking away

So here's something I believe. If something (or someone, I guess) is a constant source of stress, and you're not getting anything out of it, not growing or improving yourself as a result of your participation, walk away. Walk away, and don't look back.

You might call it quitting. You might decry my lack of patience, or fortitude, or tell me that it'll build character.

To that I say "Thpppppppt!"

I quit my acting class today, because I hadn't learned anything, I didn't forsee learning much of anything, and the people that I had to deal with were doing a terrific job of pissing me off. So I quit.

And I feel better for having done it.
